Welcome to the official website of Takemi Tsuruta, ceramic artist and ceramics instructor. Tsuruta lives and works in Oakland, California and teaches Ceramics at Diablo Valley College in San Ramon. He is a native bay-area, Japanese-American artist currently making utilitarian stoneware and porcelain. Tsuruta's current work is based on a reflection of his childhood and the pots in the kitchen that surrounded him and his family.
He is planning a series of ceramic sculptures based on this same reflection.
